Living lab with learning demonstrators and user tests to analyse the perception of purchasing refurbished TVs and Washing Machines

Design of a storyboard of the user test to contrast the new business model.

A context investigation has been carried out on the economics of reuse in the electrical appliance sector with the aim of designing a demonstrator in the Ekocenter Arrasate of Emaus Gipuzkoa. Household appliances comply with circular criteria from manufacture to their final stage of life. Through this project, the possibility of selling reused washing machines and televisions is tested with users.

New company created with industrial knowledge from Mondragon and technology and development of Exxita Be Circular

The balanced combination of knowledge, skills and implementation favoured the creation of this new company, with a mission to “Provide technological solutions to reduce waste generation, extending the useful life of products and reusing them at the end of their useful life” “...that they help transform the design, manufacture and use of products by innovating in business models.”

ACEDE has contributed to the design of the initial conceptualisation of the possible collaboration, named REPLAY Mondragon. Input from ACEDE increases potential scope, and revitalisation of the entire, initial process of exploration and collaboration of the parties. The goal is attainment of a level of viable collaboration desirable by both parties.

Promotion of real cases of installation of photovoltaics for self-consumption in housing communities

An initiative that aims to bring photovoltaic energy closer to homes in the Debagoiena Region through the research and development of accessible proposals for the population, implementing 3 demonstrators of different types: self-consumption for community expenses, for individual homes and self-consumption shared by buildings with and without roofs. The involvement of an engineering and panel installer, as well as the involvement of Town Halls and Associations has been the key. The mirror effect of this initiative has exceeded initial expectations, reaching a critical mass tipping point for the creation of a photovoltaic wave in Debagoiena.
